1. Introduction
Little Roars ("we," "us," or "the App") provides child-focused learning and entertainment experiences for users aged 4–16. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage an account or child profile for a user under 13, and must supervise any purchase or location-related feature. This policy explains how we handle information in the App and on the Little Roars website.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the features a parent chooses to use, we collect and store:
- Account information — email address, name, and profile picture.
- Child-profile information — profile name and date of birth, used to manage a child profile and provide age-appropriate features.
- Location information — approximate or precise location only when device permission is granted for a clearly explained location feature. It must not be collected from users under 13 or users of unknown age; a parent must control any location feature.
- Purchase information — subscription status, selected product, and transaction or receipt information supplied by Google Play or another store. We do not receive or store payment-card details.
- Technical, advertising, and website analytics information — service providers may process limited device, app, diagnostic, ad-interaction, and website-analytics data needed to operate, secure, and measure services.
The exact information depends on the final features and SDKs enabled in the released App. Do not submit child personal information through the website.
3. Where Your Information Is Stored
We use Google Firebase and Google Cloud to host authentication, database, storage, and related infrastructure. We use information to provide and secure accounts and child profiles, select age-appropriate features, provide an explicitly requested parent-controlled location feature, maintain subscriptions, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, meet legal obligations, and improve the App. We do not sell personal or sensitive information.
4. Advertising
The App may show ads. For children and users of unknown age, we use only Google Play Families Self-Certified Ads SDKs and child-appropriate, non-personalised ads. We do not use interest-based advertising, remarketing, advertising IDs, or other prohibited persistent identifiers for those users. Ads must be clearly distinguishable from App content and must not cause accidental clicks. Our website uses Google Analytics with Google Signals and ad personalisation disabled.
5. Subscriptions & Purchases
Little Roars offers optional monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. The price, billing period, included features, and renewal terms shown in Google Play or the relevant store at checkout apply. Purchases are processed by the store, not by Little Roars, and are protected by a parental gate.
6. Parental Rights & Consent
For users under 13, we obtain the parental authorisation required by applicable law before collecting personal information beyond what is strictly necessary. We use a neutral age screen when needed to distinguish child users from older users. Parents may review, correct, export where applicable, or request deletion of their own and their child's data by contacting hello@littleroars.app. To request deletion, use the subject line “Delete Little Roars account” and include the account email. We may verify the request before deleting data.
7. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Data is transmitted using encryption in transit and protected with access controls and other reasonable safeguards. We keep account and profile data while it is needed to provide the App, until a parent deletes the account or requests deletion, and longer only where necessary for security, legal, tax, dispute, or anti-fraud purposes. Data may be processed in countries other than the country where you live.
8. Children's Privacy
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use a feature. We do not share child-profile data with advertisers for personalised advertising. If we learn that we have collected child information outside the practices described here, we will investigate and delete it where appropriate.
9. Service Providers and Sharing
We share information only as needed with Firebase and Google Cloud, Google Play or the relevant store, approved Families-compliant advertising providers, professional advisers, authorities, or successor entities where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in a lawful business transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page and, where required by law, additional notice.
